*SPOILERS*

If you want to see a movie that has action, mystery, and drama, Zodiac (2007) has it all. This movie incorporates all of these genres into one thrilling movie. The kicker in this movie is the fact that the viewer doesn’t find out who the Zodiac Killer is until the police do.

This film does a great job of switching perspectives and it’s really cool to see it in action on the big screen. The master follows the viewers until the very end and keeps everyone guessing. It is great to see that not all movies spoil the ending at the beginning. This movie is a true story, so it makes the movie feel more intense.

This movie brings you along with both the protagonist (Robert Graysmith, played by Jake Gyllenhaal) and the antagonist (the Zodiac Killer)’s side of the story, while also not giving away the antagonist’s real identity. The takes that are in this movie make it even more interesting and it makes the film have more mystery than any “regular” murder movie. A great job was done by the editor (Angus Wall) and it makes the movie more dramatic than the viewer would expect. I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes mystery, or movies that have a lot of drama.

This movie is great at expressing the characters’ feelings just by using the cinematic camera angles by DP Harris Savides. There are many times when the frame just shows the feet of someone who is walking or where something is happening, and these shots make the movie a lot more cinematic than if it were just locked-off shots of the character’s face.

If you like action, mystery, or drama movies, Zodiac is a great movie to watch. This movie has great shots, actors, and editing. It’s very enjoyable for most people over the age of 17. While taunting the police, the Zodiac Killer is able to outsmart them and commit the crimes he planned. This is what makes this movie so interesting, and makes more people want to watch it and use its style as inspiration for their own films.
